Carry On (I)
Using my own passport and suitcase as central symbols, this piece weaves together animated planes, stamp-like imagery from family moments, and a moving visa photo to reflect the layered experience of displacement. An accompanying interactive installation invites viewers to confront the power of documents in shaping identity—asking them to judge me solely by my passport. This one-sided gaze echoes Judith Butler’s critique of whose lives are seen, valued, or rendered invisible within political and bureaucratic systems.
