Hanging Gardens and Eco of Home | 2025

Inspired by the ancient legend of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World—this immersive installation explores the emotional weight of longing for home. According to the myth, King Nebuchadnezzar II built the gardens to recreate a sense of homeland for Queen Amitis, a Persian princess who had moved to Babylon.

In a contemporary context, the work draws a parallel between ancient displacement and modern migration. Migrants today often carry only what fits within a suitcase, piecing together fragmented memories of home as they navigate unfamiliar lands. Through suitcases, light, sound, and layered imagery, the installation becomes a space for reflection on identity, loss, and resilience.
