Artist Statement

This body of work extends from my painting and mixed media practice and is rooted in personal and collective identity. It draws on sociological, familial, and cultural patterns — structures that shape us and cling to us like a psychological garment.

The work investigates the invisible architectures of identity — the inherited codes, social scripts, and cultural markings that define belonging and difference. Through texture, material, and repetition, it asks: what do we carry that we did not choose?
