Artist Statement

Carrying the Unmeasurable

A suitcase has a weight limit. It says nothing about what is actually carried inside it — the sound of a language no longer spoken daily, the absence of a home that no longer exists as it was left, the labor of rebuilding a life in unfamiliar terms.

Migration asks the body to carry what cannot be declared or measured: displacement, loss, the slow erosion of certainty about where one belongs. These are not sentimental burdens. They are structural ones, carried without pause across borders, generations, and daily life.

This work sits with that weight rather than resolving it.
